This is a photo that I took of a Mardi Gras themed wreath. I like this photo because of the angle, composition, and lighting. The worm's eye view angle is great and gives the photo some dimension. The way I composed the photo and got the whole wreath into the picture is impressive to me, because it was quite large and the line that I was in was moving. Lastly, the lighting from the top is nice and bright. The one thing I could have improved was trying to get it it into the frame of the camera better. This is a photo that I took of my little sister at a Veterans day event. I enjoy this image for the colors, focus, lighting, and composition. First off, the colors are very vibrant, and it gives this piece a clear emotion, while bringing the photo to life. I enjoy how the focus is on my sister, and the background is not too confusing. Third, the lighting, it is subtle on her face, but it also allows for a shadow to appear, which I personally enjoy. Lastly, the composition, how she is the main focus, and how the background is not distracting. I could have taken more time to pose her, but babies don't like to stay still, so I am proud of this image.
This is a photo that I took of my cousin. I enjoy this photo for three major reasons, the lighting, the composition, and focus. First, the lighting, the way it comes in from the side, and glares in the lens is great. It is great because it gives off a warm, light hearted feeling, while also giving the photo brilliant light. Secondly, the composition is great, how she is in the middle or the tree, and the sun glare, it's perfect, because she is the overall star. Lastly, the focus, you can see the emotion in her face, but also get a clear view of the background behind her, overall looking really nice. One of my favorite photos I have taken.
This is a photo that I took of my little sister, with a little pumpkin. One thing that is good about this photo is the lighting, the way that it comes in from the top, and highlights her face, is great. The second thing would be the composition. The way how i purposefully placed her with a little pumpkin is great. In addition to this, all the lines in the photo look straight. One thing that I could have fixed, was the focus, it is a bit fuzzy, and overall sort of distracting. But other than that, I enjoy this photo and the colors, just the focus throws me off.
Blog cancelled for partner grading black and white photos.
This is a black and white portrait of my little sister. I enjoy this photo for the use of the shades, the lighting, emotion and focus. First off, this photo shows both max white, and max black, giving the image a nicer feel. Secondly the lighting and focus in this image is fantastic. The focus is sharp, and the light coming in from the side lights up her face perfectly. In addition to this, all these factors work together to give off a certain kind of emotion, very childlike, but also gentle. Overall one of my favorite photos I have taken.
This photo is of, photographer, Cindy Sherman. There are three components that I enjoy about her photo, on is the lighting, two is the focus, and three is the composition. I enjoy how the staged lighting is subtle, how it comes in from the top, as well as the side, giving it a non-staged or natural look. Secondly the focus, the sharp focus brings out the details in the background, her face, and her overall surroundings. Giving the viewer, essentially, a crisp, and clear image. Lastly the composition is amazing, the way she staged herself to be looking as if she had just come home from grocery shopping, makes the image look authentic, it makes you feel as if she really is this woman she is trying to portray.
