More Than Just Tamales"In this time of "me too" and women's empowerment, I think it's important to remember how our influences are a culmination of strong women and their contributions to our lives. This drawing depicts 4 generations of family together building a strong culture with individual strengths. This is my inspiration." (Student Writing) This was one of the Doodle for Google submissions from New Mexico. I voted for this submission because it really holds a strong meaning to our day and age. Depicting how women are strong, and how we can learn from the strong female figures in our lives. In addition, their writing is near perfect, I believe I only counted one grammatical error. The real star is the art. I picked this art piece because of the technique and symbolism. The four generations bring a feeling of life and warmth to the piece. In addition, this student used dot art. Dot art is art that is colored, and shaded in by dot work. Therefore you can tell that this student put in the work and the drive to complete this entry.

This photo was taken by photographer, Platon. This photo is of Benadict Cumberatch, a British actor. This photo is great for the focus and lighting. Platon also does a great job with composition and capturing Benadict's personality. Overall he captures all the fundamentals of photography with simple photos.
Ever since I was about 2 years old, art has been my passion. Not just the standard pencil and paper art, no, any form of art. I love photography, drawing, writing, and singing. My main mediums (as of the moment) is photography and pencil and paper art. Art has always been the way I express myself. When I was young, I went through an intense year of bullying, which pushed me into a lifelong depression. Although it does not affect me all the time, it is still with me wherever I go. I used to deal with it through harm. But then, I discovered I could express my pain through my art. I owe my life, and who I am, to art. It is a safe and healthy way to vent how I am feeling.
This is a drawing of an old man with a guitar that I sketched quickly. I enjoy this sketch mostly because of the pose and emotion that I captured in the man's face. However, by looking at this drawing I can clearly see I need to work on sketching hands. Which is something I have struggled with for a long time. I hope to get better, because I have been practicing. As for the overall photo, the cropping could be improved and the focus is weak. Could be improved.
Sound waves is what allows your ears to hear music and noise. Through my Photoshop edit, I depict a symphony flowing out of a mouth. The symphony represents how voices are like music, and should be treated as important and worth listening to. Behind the symphony is a type of sound recording wave. This represents the volume and the voice's speech. I decided to set it in space to make it a bit dynamic. This is because in space, you aren't supposed to hear sound, but by placing my edit in space, it defies the boundaries of sound.
This photo was taken by photographer, Varun Aditya. This photo shows that Varun is more than proficient in the basics of photography. This photo has excellent natural lighting and a natural pose in the animal. It must have been very difficult for this photographer to achieve this beautiful shot. The focus is great, and the cropping is fantastic. I also enjoy the cropping and how Aditya cuts it off right after the tail.
This photo was taken by portrait photographer, Platon. I enjoy this image because it is simple, however it is also complex. The angle is interesting and dynamic, it really shows the subject's personality. The fundamentals of the photo are also very nice, there is max black and max white. Lastly the focus and composition are done beautifully. Everything down to the cropping flow and create a sense of unity.
This photo was taken by 3D portrait photographer, Alexa Meade. First off, I really enjoy Ms. Meade's work and how it inclines the artistic side of photography. How she is able to channel her inner artist in such a profound way. Secondly, the cropping is great and even, the colors and painting on her body creates contrast. Lastly, the lightning and focus are both professional, sharp, and profound.
